Production Area: Piemonte. Grapes: 100% Nebbiolo. Alc/Vol: 13,5%. Vinification and Ageing: Macerated for about 14 days in stain-less steel tanks at controlled temperature. This wine is aged for 3 years. 2 years in Slovenian oak casks and then in the bottle for at least 8 months. Tasting: A deep pomegranate red wine; with a delicate fragrance of rose and hints of pepper and an intense mineral fragrance. Soft, silky tannins, with a good structure. Defined as "the most dignified and aristocratic Italian wine" by experts in the field, our Gattinara Travaglini undoubtedly represents a jewel in the crown for global oenology. Its unmistakable characteristics make this wine unique, able to satisfy the most demanding palates and win over connoisseurs of the most elegant and intense sensations with its smoothness and roundness. Gattinara is located in the Alto Piemonte territory at the foot of Monte Rosa, in the far north-east of the region. The "Nebbiolo" variety has chosen this extraordinary territory in which to grow. Obviously there could be no question of putting a great wine into an ordinary bottle. So, as long ago as 1958, Giancarlo Travaglini came up with a work of art: A special, prestigious bottle in which the wine could be served on the most prominent tables in the world. Among the most prestigious recent awards are: WS (90pt), WA (91pt), Duemilavini: 4 Grappoli (out of 5).
