Sauvignon Blanc DOC - Collio, Italy

Production Area: Friuli. Grapes: 100% Sauvignon. Alc/Vol: 14,5%. Vinification and Ageing: Maceration on the skins for 12 months. Alcoholic fermentation at the controlled temperature of 16-18C and ageing on fine lees in steel vats with periodical batonnage for at least five months. Tasting: Straw yellow with a light greenish shade. Intense and persistent, reminds tropical fruits, pineapple, pepper, tomato leaves, sage and mint. The Sauvignon by Casa Muzic hails from Collio, a tiny border region between Italy and Slovenia. The successive valleys and close peaks, and the ideal slope of the land favour drainage and mean that the sun's rays have a much greater impact on the vines. But the truly unique point of this wine -considered among the best in Italy- is the result of the geological characteristics combined with the sea breezes that invigorate the land and the natural barrier of the Alps sheltering the territory from the cold Northern European winds.
